Early Melons is a festival that would like to screen the most interesting works of the present European student film production. It should serve as a place where works of talented young filmmakers can meet. Early Melons is an international film festival that wants to show to the audience, that student film is a phenomenon that has to be revealed. Our goal is to create an international meeting, where young authors from various European countries will exchange experience and compare possibilities and trends in student film production. The program of the festival is based on two competitions — international competition and Slovak competition. Early Melons is not only the display of the films, a lot of other activities take place during the festival — seminars, discussions, special thematical screenings and cultural events.
