International Digital Film Festival IZOLENTA was established in 2006.
Main goal of the festival is to discover new tendencies and to promote video and multimedia art in contemporary Russia as well as to show actual world gains in this field.
Festival’s aim is to show the shaping of the new forms of art and the variety of the visual experiences and experiments, to retrace the ties between different areas of art: video-art and animation, performance and modern dance, VJ-ing and all neighbor genres of multimedia art.
The organizers invite different interesting art-groups to demonstrate their visual art projects across several fields of art and video.
A joint Russian-Swedish project “Art Cooperation” was successfully held in 2007. As a result several Swedish artists came to St.Petersburg to present their program and workshops as well as several Russian artists, musicians and dancers arrived in Sweden on a return visit.
Festival expert board is consisted of video-artists, tutors, art and cinema critics, directors, mass media representatives.
Festival program consists of the competition program of animation, fiction, documentary films and video-art. Special festival programs are the competitions of dance and music video. Viewers are invited to see different experiments – a combination of all forms of art with an image on the screen, to see the performances of poets, musicians, dancers, live artists, photographers and designers.
