“Kinoproba” festival has been held in Ekaterinburg since 2004. In the beginning it was devoted only to animation films, but later festival program was enriched by short fiction films (since 2007) and short documentary films (since 2008).

The festival introduces the basic trends in cinema education to the audience.

Apart from the screenings the program of the festival-school includes:

• master-classes
• meetings with the leading cinema experts
• tutorial and , academic research conferences and seminars
• debating-society
